Nov 6, 2006 Plenty of Room to overwinter water hyacinths this year. Each tub contains a 5 gallon bucket full of black dirt, then 25 water hyacinths. I did have the tubs floating in the pond, but a 25" ogon jumped in one and almost died, so ive got them out of jump range. |
Nov 10, 2006 Koi are inside for the winter. Weather forecast outside is Snow and upper 30's. Inside the koi house, water is a cozy 72F and the gang is happy and hungry. |
Nov 28, 2006 I got the drywall up. 20 sheets of moisture resistant drywall. Ive got the first layer of mud on. Trying to keep the dust down to a minimum. |
Feb 17, 2007 Yesterday it warmed up and the roof and ice-cicles all melted off. ![]() When I flush the settling chambers, all that warm water and muck goes out in the yard. It melts the snow. ![]() Inside the fishhouse is nice an cozy. Are your fish under the ice? Not mine :) ![]() Green plants in Iowa in February!! Ah, helps with those winter blues!! ![]() ![]() |
Apr 12, 2007 Well, we had an April snowstorm. Good thing I didn't take the koi out to Spawn April 1st like I wanted, or they would be seriously suffering right now!! Snow on the ground for the last week, and the forcast does not look promising. |
