Pond Rock

How many rocks will I need? TONS!. You would be surprized how many rocks it takes. Depends on the diameter of your pond, how large your waterfall, and how long your stream is, etc. I only put rocks around the perimiter of the pond edge. I do not put them all the way to the bottom. A 4,000 pound load of rock (like in the picture) would edge a small pond about 10' diameter and short waterfall. .

What size of rock should I use? Rocks should be sized to the proportions of the pond. Smaller ponds should use smaller rocks. Using rocks too large can make a small pond look even smaller. Here are a few pictures of rocks with weights. The scale that they are sitting on is 12"x14".
