Back in the mid 1990's koi were very expensive and hard to find in Iowa. I raised fancy goldfish and shubunkins at our pond in Toddville Iowa.
My wife and I got Married by our pond on June 14, 1997. During our honeymoon in March of 1998, my wife and I drove across the United States. One of our stops was the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha Nebraksa.
The Zoo has a huge koi pond surrounding Lagoon Island. The pond is full of thousands of Koi. There is a covered bridge that spans over the pond and visitors feed popcorn to the Koi. It was that day that my obsession with koi began, I was hooked on koi!
