| Buiding a Waterwheel |
![]() Here at Bickal Koi Farm in Toddville Iowa, we love Waterwheels, and old Millhouses. They arent a traditional Japanese Koi Element, but we are in Iowa, and so are our Koi! I built my waterwheel in my basement during the winter, January 1999 (with much helpful advice from Ken, from Oregon Waterwheels.) Thanks again Ken !!! Its made from Cedar Wood. It is 4 foot diameter and 16 inches wide at the hub. There are 22 paddles. The buckets measure 12 inches wide and 6 inches deep. The wood for this wheel cost $150. It took me 20 hours to build. |
Step by step instructions are available on my DIY CD.
